Welcome to my Blog and my beautiful mess of creative madness, thanks for stopping by!

My name is Mehrzad Motamedi, I am an independent photojournalist based in Toronto, CA.  I enjoy photography, wildlife, music, poetry, literature and art. I am fluent in Farsi & English.

So why read my blog? What is in it for you? What can you expect? 

If you ever heard about Afghanistan, which by now in 2022 I am sure that you have, I am confident the news was somewhat negative or worrisome. Now to an extent, that maybe true but rarely do we get to hear about any positivity or more importantly the voices of the people who live there.  Fueled by my passion of the spreading the truth that is where I come in; also having a large network of Afghans inside of Afghanistan also helps.

If you have a growing interest in Afghanistan or have been curious or had uncertainty, or if you just want to learn more about this interesting country then you have come to the right place.  I will be covering topics ranging from culture, history, music, art, literature, travel, events, news, politics, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) or simply anything relating to Afghanistan. You can expect to broaden your knowledge about the country and even start to sound like a local with all the new information thanks to yours truly.

As Afghanistan currently lives through its darkest days, I decided to start this blog with a goal to shed some positive light and redefine its negative image; furthermore, and more importantly to bring awareness and relevance from the voices of the people on the ground, instead of a scripted narrative created by international players with an agenda.
